Why Don’t I Have the Energy?

When I ask my clients what stops them from looking and feeling their best, the first of the most common stop sign I hear is, “I just simply don’t have the energy to do what it takes to live life healthfully.”

So what happened to their energy? Though stories and circumstances vary from person to person, the majority of people are responding to stress—chronic, low-grade stress.

Currently, stress-related illness not only tops the charts for cause of death, it is also financially crippling, consuming a large portion of our governmental, insurance, and personal budgets each year in both the United States and Canada.

Part of my preparation for writing this book involved investigating stress-related illness and illnesses that list fatigue as a symptom. When I compared these lists, I realized that they were almost identical.

One of the most common symptoms of a stress-related illness is lack of energy, otherwise know as fatigue. When people experience fatigue, they find it very difficult to practice the principles of healthy living. As a result, fatigue is one of the most common stop signs we encounter.

Symptoms are your body’s way of signaling that it can no longer adapt to stress on its own and needs help from you. First the body whispers, and if you don’t hear it, it raises its voice, as symptoms become stronger and more numerous.

If you continue to mute these signals, it will scream out loud with illnesses like diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. So instead of pushing the mute button, I encourage you to tune in to the whispers.

And the GO Doctor can help you accomplish that!
